The Optimist Club of Red Deer was formed in 1960. The group had 28 charter members and we are honored to still count two of those charter members as active optimists to this day. The Optimist Club, as a whole, was initially founded in 1919 in Louisville, Kentucky, when a group of men became concerned with the deteriorating behavior of the boys in their city. It has come on to become a multi-national organization, improving the lives of youth across the world.
